I love Kirk but he seems to be confused. First he admitted that he go too carried away with the Gospel hip hop to the point where he could not tell the differnce and that God had pulled his coat and yet and still you can hardly tell the difference sometimes in the change. What is he saying? I can't seem to comprehend the message. Maybe I'm too dense. Gospel Hip Hop is it wrong or right? I was astonished to see Pastor Shirely Ceasar belting out a gospel rap. There must be a fine line because now we even have Hip Hop Churches. One of my dearest friends Hip Hop legend Kurtis Blow is Assistant Pastor and Founder of the Hip Hop Church in Harlem. What do you think? Is it right or wrong? I firmly believe that anything you do in praise to God cannot be wrong if your intentions are pure and if it is being done out of order he will correct it. Many of our young are now attending these Hip Hop churches and to me it's better than them being in the street getting in trouble. What do you think?

I think Kirk is confused because I remembered when something was mentioned about him talking about the kidn of music he does; but let's look at this another way. Does it bring the folks to the Lord? does it bring focus on the Lord? I feel he has some great things and he's doing things that folks haven't done; now as for Kurtis Blow, this one is a new one on me; I was one of his fans when he did The Breaks back in 80; Let me say this. God is a god of order; when you do something in his name, it gots to be decent and in order. Perhaps, with that in mind, that can help answer your question. I feel if it's main focus is about the Lord, fine. no problem, but if it's main thing is about the person, well, you know your answer then. peace.

I have never seen this so really do not know how it is presented or anything.
I do think that anything that can do this in a respectful, "holy" way AND get the people to join in is ok. It may be an unorthodox way of "preaching," but if it works it works.
I'm sure alot of kids and young adults may be attracted to the whole hip-hop thing and then find they are learning and believing in positive things.

I totally agree with you. We need even more positive and ingenious ways of reaching our children the people with negative intentions do.

Dear LadyMoore Sabb,
I understand your notion about using the kind of musics that will attract a good number of people to attend churches. And I agree that God will correct His children if they make mistakes, no doubt about that at all.
However, if I may present the case from another perspective, here are my stand on the other side of the story. There is a saying, "the end should never justify the means" and when it comes to help people to come to know God, the kind of God whom we introduce is reflected from how we present Him before them.
As fallen human beings, even our intentions and insights are no longer 100% pure. That is why we need the guidance from His words continously. The issue is sometimes we deafen our ears to His correction in order to achive something we think as good.
Lastly, I believe a part of challenge about hymns and gospels nowadays is how we ourselves can appreciate them before we can convince others of their values.
Thank you for reading this LadyMooreSabb and I'm sorry if it's too long...=)

Precious Lady, I am in total agreement with you, Anything that will bring spirituality out in people is a good thing. I am a pagan and worship both the god and the goddess; but I also respect everyone else's right to their belief system. I am ignorant of the people you speak of, but it sounds as if they are true leaders of spirtuality and that can never be a bad thing. Your Sister in Love ~Donna

With all the things wrong in the world today Ican't see bad mouthing anything positive whether it be what we are accustomed to or not. These children could be somewhere else doing something much worse. If I am wrong I pray God show me the error of my ways but until then I say keep up the good work.
