I think depression is only a state of mind, mind over matter... make an effort to watch funny shows on tv, instead of watching news.. thats enough to depress anyone. I've decided to stop watching the news. things are going to happen weather I watch or not...and it's my choice weather I'm happy or not..wake up in the morning telling yourself your going to have a great day...then go out and do it. it's your choice.

Depression overcomes your very being. Nothing you do seems to be right. It's extreme, extreme sadness. I've dealt with it. I felt worthless, unloved, unworthy of life among other things. The way I've overcame it is I was on anti-depressants for a while, then I focused on my faith and realizing that I am always loved and needed. My friends helped too...talking to them helpe express how i felt.

Depression is a chemical imbalance in your brain that makes you feel worthless, sad, angry, hateful and many other things. Sadness is an emotion that is brough on by something bad or disappointing in your life. That is my definition of the 2.

Depression is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away. People with a depressive illness cannot merely "pull themselves together" and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Appropriate treatment, however, can help most people who suffer from depression.
