Grinding teeth

I need advise. I have a 15 month old who recently started maing clicking noises with her mouth. I couldn't figure out how she was making them until the other night I caught her grinding her teeth together. My sister suggested getting a mouth night guard and only using it while she awake and I can catch her doing it. I am afraid of her choking on it due to her being so small and not understanding what it is for. Does any one else have any suggestions on what to do? She only has the 8 front teeth.

I had this problem for a while. my doctor told me it's a faze and not to make a big deal about it. he told me not to tell her to stop cause she'll do it just to annoy me or to be bad if she's mad, but if you don't pay attention to it she'll stop on her own soon.

how long did it last. She is doing it so loud that we can hear it over all the other noise and it sounds painful

At times if the child is grinding teeth, the cause can be worms...so go to a doctor and see if deworming is required.
