This question is raised 4 months ago. Unfortunately, I saw it just now. Maybe you've already found out the solution. Anyway, the steps: 3x^2 - 12x + 12 = 0 3(x^2 - 4x + 4) = 0 3(x - 2)(x - 2) = 0 x = 2
