Hi , I have two boys aged 9 years and 8 years . My big problem I have is keeping them intertained so they do not get bored . I had even tried doing craft with them which keep them amused for a few hours but not long any ideas !!!

Get them involved in sports, they play soccer, they play hockey, they roller blade, get a net, some balls , a few hockey sticks and they will be busy for hours. My son would spend hours on his roller blades practicing shooting and backhands and everything else. He was never bored. DO they read? They can read books and play games.

Since we live Australia it has been Winter and Melbourne is so cold and windy so the boys can not play too much sport , but it is Spring time now it is beginning to warm up so the boys will be play cricket in the back yard again !! When Summer comes we get twilight so the days are also longer so the have more time play their outdoor actives such as cricket , football or even volley ball in the backyard !! We even do the old BBQ with friends and family from time to time . Now that it is warming up they can have far more fun outside !!

Whoa..you just had winter..that was our busiest time of the year. Hockey dominated our life..from September until April or May. At least 2 practices and 2-3 games a week and sometimes off-ice training as well.

We are not that lucky here it just get way too cold to do anything here !! We all rather sit any read a book the boys enjoy reading their Star Wars books and play board games I try to keep everything at a educational level and at the same time fun for the children as they are two bright and smart little boys they also enjoy their play time as I buy toys and games to educate them they have their other toys as well !! As I keep it all pretty simply !!

Boys like to copy their dads, give them the chance to learn things for themselves and give them outlets for their physical energy. Outdoor games and sport.

It would be nice my husband works night shift and our children are in school ! The children see him for 3 hours per day before he heads off to work . On his two days off which are Friday and Saturday . Friday he is helping me around the house and Saturday is the only day he gets to spend the full day with the children !! Sometime the children are doing their own things!! We all try to spend as much time together as we can as time is precious and we tend to make the most of what we have got !!

It really depends on the individual and what they like. I have sons now 31,29, and 15. You would think the 2 older ones being so close in age would have been good company for each other but not the case, total opposites. One had to and still does be on the go, moving, doing physical stuff and have people around all the time. The other I had to drag out of his room where he would stay for hours and hours reading. At 8 and 9 they know what they like to do. Ask them! Also agree with sports or scouts.

I have a 14 and 17 son and I seem to have a hard time spending an equal amount of time with the both of them, I seem to spend more time with my oldest son since we have more in common with each other then I do with my youngest sons who is just into diffrent things than I am.
