Do you have a favorite place to find discussions?

I've been playing around here a few days now and have kinda jumped all around different places with no real order. Late last night I started thinking about it and wondered if others did the same or if you have a certain "prioity" when responding to discussions.

There are days when I spent more than an hour just wading through and looking for some discussions I find attractive. I was very disappointed and felt I just wasted my time. So I just concentrated on posting topics. In the process, I see good discussions being displayed. I don't really have "priorities". I thought of going over my friend's list but since most of them are not responding even once to my discussions,I don't really feel comfortable checking the list out. Maybe it's just that there are some good days, and some less than good. So, do I have any favorite place to find discussions? I usually check the debate and life portion first and then to discussion with no response.

Ah, you hit on something I was wondering about. I'm set up to be notified when my friends post a new discussion but wondering if mine are doing the same. I guess unless you message them directly there really is no way of knowing except for watching who is responding and who isn't.

I'm getting messages when you post a new discussion!! So you should at least get 1 reply from me!

I usually start off by checking the discussion my friends started, that eats up most of my time. Ya, initially i had the same problem, trying to find the right discussion. Adding many friends has made my job a lot easier.

Thank you my friend. I enjoy seeing your smiling face in amongst my responses and I really like what you have to say.

LOL and I also thank you my friend - and love your smile although a bit "in the pink". I just posted a response to another friends discussion on "how to make more" or something to that effect. A really really new member. I think a big key to mylot is building a quality network of friends, not just having a huge list of friends.

I also check my friends to see if they have "uncompleted discussions" and try to help them out there. For example yesterday I think 10 or 15 of my responses were to friends who had discussions with only 1-9 responses.

I always give priority to "discussions my friends started" then i look at "new discussions" and "new user's discussions" to help people with less responses.. I must say that I'm very disappointed with many of my friends who seem to be happy with me responding to their discussions and they never do the same.. I will be deleting many of such friends soon :(

I have heard/read the same thing happening with a lot of people. I think with time the key is to develope a "quality" friends list and go with that. I do my best to respond to all of my friend's discussions but sometimes it is difficult to do if the topic is something I'm not familiar with.

I check all of my friends discussions.I try to reply to as many of those as I can. Then, I go through all discussions that I have started to see if there are replies to respond to.I also rate with + and - while I do all of that. Then I check discussions in my interests. If I have any more time,I check the new discussions. Once in awhile, when I have time, I will see someone's response that I find interesting and will go check out discussions that they started.

This sounds great, I'm working on building my friends list but am a little "picky". If I see someone has posted 20 discussions and only responded to 10 I figure they are going to get a lot more out of the friendship than me. I've also been taking a look at my intrests but there don't seem to be a lot or they just seem "silly".

I usually start with my friends discussions and then stick to the new discussions. I like being the first one to post a response lol

I don't have many friends right now but have been doing that. I set all on my friends list so I'm notified by email when they post a new discussion. But should mention before I request a friend I check out what discussions they have started and their interests - I can't see having hundreds of friends who post stuff I have no idea what to respond.

Yes, I too love this place for the same reasons. Currently I'm averaging over $1 a day and I'm having fun, working on my writing, meeting new people, and learning. Can't beat that.

Sometimes I just bounce around in all the areas and comment on what looks interesting. Other times I will focus on my friends, or maybe even one or two friends. I also like to go to the 'discussions with no responses' section. Because I have had many such discussions myself, I like to comment on these and at least give them one more chance to fly. There are always plenty of options to choose from.

I just go with what I feel like talking about. I can't make myself just reply to whatever, just to earn more money. It's either something I am interested in, or if I feel I can help somebody with advice.

I am the same way but the more time I am here the more I realize this is an excellent way for me to work on my creative writing skills - a bit challenging at times but creating a quality response to nearly any discussion. I do draw a total blank and pass up discussions on sports and stuff kids know about - I'm not up to date on music, movies, or tv shows.

Ah yes I do, I was getting fed up of the new discussions and top discussions a few weeks back and decided to see what a friend had responded to.So I went into her profile and checked some of the discussions she had responded to. I was surprised to see so many good ones which I hadn't come across at all. We don't have common friends here so it was a whole new collection..lol Nowadays I do it often more often, I start with friends and then hop from one user to the other randomly. It saves me a ton of time looking for discussions!! You should try it too ;o)

I don't have an order as such as i'm still trying to find my feet here. I usually respond to the discussions that my "friends" have started first and then i'll just hop around my interests an participate in those. i haven't had to go looking for a discussion yet - although i'm sure i will as my time here grows longer

I do actually have an order that I tackle my time at myLot. First I check if anything I started needs replying (if there is a lot in that discussion I will only reply to a few at a time). Then I do the same for ones I have replied to. Then I check what my friends have started. Then I check top discussions and hot topics. Then if I still have time or haven't found much to reply to I will start going thru what's left.

I jump around a lot, although I have found it very useful to have an interests list, because there is usually at least one post I'm interested in in each topic. It makes it easier to find people to talk to. I like to hop about though, just to see what is being posted.

I don't get the chance to spend much time here as I'd like to as of yet but I log in everyday and go to my friends discussions; that's all that I have time for right now. I do the same thing, before I accept a friend I always look at their profile, their interests and if they've responded to one of my discussions...

Well I DO have an order .... First, I checked the discussions I started to see the new answers or add a comment Then, I check my friends disccussions to see if there are some topics I ca contribute to After that, I check the discussions I have already answered to see if someone added a comment to my answer and if yes I try to comment back And sometimes if I still have a moment I like the new discussions but I have noticed lately that I didn't have much time anymore for those LOL So here is my mylot routine Darn looks like I am addicted LOL ;-) Hope it helped

I check out any discussions that have been written by my friends here. After checking that out I then start to roam according to the subjects I like. Then after I do that I go to all the other discussions to see if there is anything there that looks interesting to me. Love this place and go all over the site but in this order above.

I jump all around. I go to new posts and then to post with no replies, then to friends posts then to posts of new users. I do all of them then go back and start over again. I find a duiscussion I like and comment on that one.

I like to start by checking my friend's discussions then I move on to my interests. I start with what updated last and read a few pages and then move onto the next. It keeps me from posting in just one category and gives me lots to choose from. I don't usually like to start at new discussions unless I'm desperate because its hard to find good stuff there.
