My husband and I have been going out for dinner at the same Restaurant where we had our first date sixteen years ago.

The wife and go to Washington DC for the night. We get a room, go to dinner, have a couple of drinks, and just enjoy the alone time. Also we always watch our wedding video on our aniversery. It's a shame we wait till once a year for this. Force

I like the movie idea. I think it sure beats the movies you can rent these days.

On our last anniversary, in March, we took advantage of a free hotel stay we won at a Christmas party and went on an overnight vacation. I even surprised my wife by calling up the hotel and convincing them to upgrade the free room to the honeymoon suite and letting me pay the difference. Good thing I did that. Other than the room, which was fantastic (fire place, hot tub, digital cable) there really wasn't too much that was impressive about the town.

You're a very clever man to think of svaing that free trip until your anniversary. Your wife is a lucky woman to have a romantic guy like you.

LOL That still counts for something. Most men I know wouldn't have thought that far ahead. Actually, aside from my husband, most of the men I know don't think at all! You're a keeper.

Actually, it was her free trip. I'll just take credit for upgrading it.

My husband and I love to go to the movies together. We had our first date at a theatre. This brings back great and pleasant memories. Sitting there, holding hands and watching a movie together. We have gone to a Theme Hotel, and had dinner in the Safarie room of the Hilton before. We watch movies on HBO, and order Chinese take out. That is romantic also.

Oh, that romantic! You are lucky that you guys go out and have dinner. My hubby dont even remember the date we got married. He also get my birthday and our daughter's birthday mixed up so I guess it hard for him to remember the wedding anniversary......

When we did not have children, we used to go to a far-away hotel for the day. But now, on and off we go. But not every year.

We go out to eat and talk for hours, then rent the first movie we saw and curl up in bed and watch it.

I was hoping there would be more ideas! I'm trying to convince my Dad to do something special for their 40th. He's just not the romantic type though!

Hi, you could give him what my father always want for his birthday; A few kind words and a little peace and quiet. I'll think on this awhile.
