is it possible to convert water to a fuel????

I kept on thinking whether water can be used as a combustible fuel like petrol, diesel etc... If any one hav small ideas pls do contribute to make it a success... I thought of doing electrolysis on water so tht hydrogen gas forms and this hydrogen when ignited gets a big BOOOOMMM!!! I need to contro this reaction.?? but cant get any... Well. Pls suggest some of ur ideas

researches are going on in a similar manner, to seperate oxygen and hydrogen in water and use it as a fuel. i read about it in some magazine.

Are you the scientist or the inventor!Your idea is good but it's not a new one!Many years ago,people have stared this work!But still unsuccessful!I think of doing electrolysis on water is one approach of geting energy!But we need to finding the safely container avoiding BOOOMMM!:)

We are already invented, the fuel from water.i.e. hydro electricity, which does not pollute the atmosphere like pertrol and diesel. We can produce fuel out of water, but we cannot make the water into fuel, as water do not burn.
