I would never feed that to my pet!! NO offense, but I have a strict rule about no people food for my dogs. I don't want them to think they are allowed to have the food we eat, because they become beggars. We have one that is big enough to take food off our plates on the table, and I don't want him to think that's OK, so they get people food at my house only. I do, however, make homemade treats, but they don't involve butter or cheese or bacon...

Understand you completely. Some people prefer that their animals have the best manners and diet. I just found this and since I don't do the superbowl but do have pets I thought I would share it. And by golly I got to chat a second with you. Bacon of course is almost always mine. :) Thanks much for responding!!

It's good that some people on here do care about their pets though! nothing wrong with spoiling them (I spoil mine with lots of ball playing, instead of food treats!) But there are too many people who have pets and don't care for them very well... and anyone that would cook them special food at least considers them part of the family, and not just something to have in the yard.

my guests spoil our dogs more than we do so i was just going to make enough snacks for all of us!!( plus i think that the 'little smokies' sausages i am putting out probably have just about the same ingredients as doggie snausages!!LOL! )

people food is unwise for dogs. I would inform my guests not to feed my pets and that we keep them on a healthy diet. I dont like my guests treating my dogs without my permission. A healthy dog is not an Obese dog.

Hey, that is great. How sweet of you to take the time to post that and remind us that our pets need to snack as we do watching it. Hhehe.:)

What a nice idea. Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to my son's house for a superbowl party and I don't think he would really like it if I dragged my four dogs and one puppy over there.lol. But he has a dog, maybe I can make a bunch of it and give him some for his dog and keep the rest for my dogs. It would also be a nice treat for other special occasions too.

You are welcome for the recipe. Sounds like a plan to include his pooch. Just as a treat is what I agree with too. Thanks much for responding.

What a creative recipe. Now if I can keep my husband for trying to eat it that would be the trick. LOL. I have 2 dogs and even if I didn't feed them people food as treats once in a while, my other famil members and friends would. So since I will be having friends and family over, this will be great so they don't give them other stuff and my dogs don't end up getting sick. My sister is the worst spoiler of them all, so I will make this recipe first! SHe feeds them behind my back all of the time. LOL Thanks a lot.

I think we need to be very careful what foods we introduce into our dogs diets. It is easy to hurt dogs with people food and it is unwise to allow them to many treats as it is a form of abuse to allow our dogs to become obese.

It is agreed that we need to tend to our pets needs. My canine friends are in great shape and get the scraps that we share with them as part of their actual diet. Thanks much for responding!

I will try that for my pups even though we will be doing SuperBowl Sunday in a different order. We were going to forget about the game and watch our pets instead.

Your blood pressure should be a whole lot better than the fans working themselves up for Superbowl. Glad you will be enjoying your pets. Thanks for responding.

You know, I was invited to a super bowl party and this would be perfect; I could act like it is for the humans and then just give it to the animals once I get my jollies out of it. I love the idea, I know so many people that do forget to feed the animal and then they wonder why their dog or cat jumps all over them during the play and attack them on the way to the bathroom. Again I will repeat, I love this idea and have never heard of this before. So unique!! :)

I hope you reserve this treat only for special occasions, lol. It does look pretty darn appealing for a dog though!

Thank you for the recipe and one of my dogs will be right next to me watching the super bowl. Our rottie is not too good in the house, but the german shepherd just stays right by me and will love this party mix.
