Future of Our Kids

I'm interested in finding out what are some of the views on the future of our kids in this world. Things are not the way they were years ago and they never will be again, that is that. But, what really drives me crazy is the total lack of disregard most teenagers have for others. Manners and respect seem to be things of the past.

You are so right. I'm scared to see what the world is going to be like twenty years from now. I try very hard to teach my children they have to use their manners, be polite, use tact, not say hurtful things to each other and show respect for people but it's hard when they see how other children act and the things their friends get away with. I remember growing up I was scared (not because they beat me, they were very good to me) of my parents. I did what I was told and didn't talk back. Nowadays it seems kids have no respect for anyone or anything.

This is where responsible parenting comes in. We parents have to set the standard what is acceptable and what is not. The technology is not going to go away, but we have to teach our children to humanize ourselves and not to realate to people as if they were machines. If you want kids to respect you, then you have to respect them, and listen to them. Sometimes the answer will be yes, and sometimes the answer will be no, but all answers have to be given in a loving way.
