How can you justify, to battle violence you have to use violence...?

well if some1 goes and hit you on the face, what would be your first reaction, hittin him back right? well i think is the same way, if some1 uses violence with you the BEST thing ll be acting like ghandi or jesus, but hey, we are normal persons, personally if some1 hits me i ll punch him back and i wll try to win the fight U_U what you ll do?
