Are you an organ donor?

I am not, and I haven't seriously considered it. Well, if we think about it, after we die we won't really be able to use any of our organs no matter how well we have taken care of our body while we're living. So why not perform a good deed and help somebody who is in desperate need of it and change someone elses life? But then, even if we won't really feel anything after we die and the grossness of the thought of disasembling your organs while you lie there... it's just... I dunno, I wouldn't want to be looking like scrap after... I think it is a matter of selflessness, if the urge to help others is greater than anything else then it won't be so hard to decide..

call me selfish but i won't donate my oragans because of my lifestyle. in order for one to be an organ donor ,one has t have a healthy lifestyle, mine is not. but if any case someone really needs something when i die, then i would want to.

You dont necessarily have to have a healthy lifestyle to be an organ donor.. Im not sure what you mean by that, but as long as the organ is working and does not have life threatning illnesses(like aids) it will be used.

I'm a organ donor i will donate yearly once i have so many donated cards. especially my favorite freedom fighter Subhashchandra Bose birthday, i think organ donation is a the most respectful job we can do in our life.but this job needs lots and lots of courage.till now i thought many times about this but dint have courage to sign any agreement about this. I always suggest my all friends to donate the blood.

I'm an organ donor and have been since I got my driver's license as a teen. I mean, I'm a fairly healthy person. I don't smoke or drink or have any diseases or hereditary conditions. I just figured that once I've passed on, I really don't need any of my organs anymore; so why not give them to someone else in order to help them (hopefully) prolong their life? Although my life may be ending, there is no reason for me not to reach out and help a fellow human being who's in need. I guess it just always made sense to me to be an organ donor.

no, and like you i'm not seriously considering it. unlike blood donation, organ donation is quite a tough decision for me to make. am i being selfish? probably, but i'm really apprehensive when it comes to organ donation.

I'm a registered organ donor. Once you die there's a fair chance you'll be put through an autopsy anyway so they'll remove some of your organs for testing but noone will benefit from it so why not donate them?
