Have you moved house before? Is it quite hectic? Have you recently moved to a new house? If so, what is your reason? Was it for family, personal or other reasons? Do you like your new house? How does it compare to your old house? In my case, I haven't moved house at all in my whole life; so far.

I have moved several times in my life. When I was first on my own at the age of 18 I moved 6 times in a year and a half. It got so I just never unpacked things unless I KNEW I was going to use them, these were all apartment moves. I've owned 3 different homes in my life and those of course are bigger and more stressful moves because you have to deal with buying and selling your home. Also in a home you tend to accumulate much more stuff. I'm in the process now of looking to move one last time. I want to buy and acreage and live in the country so that my kids can have that experience (although we do love the home we are in now). Trying to locate the perfect plot of land is turning into no small thing though so yes it is stressful again.

my family moved a lot like nomads. my parents are both from the provinces who braved the metro for a better life armed with small amount of money, they struggled to give us a better life. due to financial constraint, sadly we never had a house of our own. looking back, it wasnt really hard for me moving from places here and there. i was pretty much able to adjust. what matters to me is that i am with my family, i'll go wherever they go :)

My last move was from Alaska to Scotland. It was very hectic dealing with two governments, all the paperwork, packing. I was so used to bigger houses. The houses in the UK are so much smaller than what I am used to. The lack of closets is amazing. They use wardrobes over here. Nowhere near big enough for an American womans' clothes!! My reason for moving? I wanted to live with my husband! If we ever move from this house, the next one really needs to have closets!! Over 5 years later, I still have boxes back home. It is so costly to ship things that i can only do a little at a time. I can't wait to get the rest of my stuff over here!

We did not move to a new house, instead it is an apartment. I hate moving so much that next time, I will pay someone to do the moving for us.

I move a lot. Since I went to high school I have been moving around regularly. In fact my best friend just called me "vagabond" because every time I write her I use a new address all the time. But it's only me in my family who moves. My parental house is still there and we never moved technically but I never went back to live in there since I went to college. I found my own place and every year I move apartment. It's such a hectic activity but I just can't stay in one place longer than two years. I'm very moody and when I get tired of my apartment I'd go and look for a better one. This is my life. I'm still single and so I don't have so much furniture yet. The last time I moved I had to sell most of my appliances to the people who moved in.

We moved house in July last year. It was really crazy for us. Since we got married, we had accumulated most of the furniture for our house. We were meant to move in December the previous year. We (and all our furniture) had been crammed into my parents house, so the minute we got the keys, we were in there! It's much nicer to be in our own house, set it up how ever we wanted to. Most of the rooms were alright to unpack, I hated setting up the kitchen the most. And as soon as we moved in, I noticed a heap of things that I would have changed. But I love this house, and we're planning to be here for a long time!! We're still settling into this house now. Since it was brand new, the walls weren't painted, there were no curtains or anything like that. It's taking a while, but we're getting there. Currently we have one two rooms left to paint, and I've almost sorted out the curtains. Moving house can be a great experience. When packing everything up, it forces you to evaluate what exactly you do need, and what is just rubbish that you've been storing for years. It's a great time to clean up, and start fresh.
