what is the latest release in graphic cards? what is the costliest graphic card available? does graphic card have any influence in the system performance or its just a gaming device.

The best graphics card among hardcore gamers are ATI radeon X1000 series and Nvidia 7800 series. Both of these constantly try to outdo each other. The Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX is around 460$. It has hell lot of effect on oyur system. It makes the your ram lay back a bit.
Everything that occurs in the monitor goes through the graphics card. The graphics card provides a support function to the CPU. It is specially designed to control the screen images.

well the best cards are by MSI with Gforce and Nvidia chipsets, the one with the ATI is also good but still not the best, well as far as gaming goes a 3d card make a hell of a difference, but for a general user when you are using operating systems like the windows vista or the new linux then one will need a 3d card because it increases the speed as far as dealing with graphics is concerned
