5 year old pregnant?

Well I had to go read the article as I was so shocked at your post. But I have to say I don't really believe it. I think as you said, maybe some people just post for others to read. I can't see how that could be true. She would have had to mature incredibly early for her to even be ABLE to get pregnant. If it is true, it is a terrible crime that was committed :(

I read through the article and followed a few of the links and it seems legitimate. Snopes.com is a very reputable site. The article gives an explanation for a very unusual, rare, early and precocious puberty in this child which allowed for the production of hormones necessary for impregnation and sustaining the pregnancy. I don't know if I can believe this; a 5 year old's body would be under tremendous stress from carrying a baby to term. I am going to try to find something else to confirm this.

I watched an episode of House tonight where a very young girl was menstruating. It turned out she had a hormonal imbalance caused by contact with a male relative who was using hormonal male enhancers and passing the hormones to her by skin contact through his sweat. In the program, they discovered she was in full puberty because of this. If that is possibly true then the story of this girl you speak of could also be true. Generally I trust snopes. It is said that our children get many hormones from our processed foods including milk and meat, which can cause them to mature at younger ages than children have in the past.

I believe that particular case is true. Snopes.com goes through great pains to research the Urban Legends to find the truth, much like the show mythbusters. Unfortunately, 'freak' things happen, as do miracles. But this particular case is a documented medical case.

I've been using snopes for a long time to debunk stories just like that. They've always seemed accurate. With a story such as that, I sincerely hope it's not true. I don't even want to think about the event that led up to it . . . and the picture they have is hideous. This is a sick world.

Is it really true? i mean i think its very impossible that a 5 year old girl got pregnant, and how did she survive the laboring? I just dont know what to say in such news, If i am the mother of that 5 year old girl, i could kill the one that did it to her.

what an amazing story! giving birth in cesarian section and that the child is only 5! wow cant believe it but i guess its true! i believe also that it has been placed in Ripley's Believe it or NOt.
