my opinion is ricky ponting is the best captain of australia because from his captaincy australia improoved a lot , he knows how to maintain the team in crictical condition .he is the best captain of than any team captains in the world . ofcourse stev waugh is also the best captain in previous matches.

Stev Waugh was backed up by players like Macgraw and Warne, so, it is not that difficult to be the captain in a team like Australia, but my choice is Arjun Ranatunga who inspired a neglected team like Sri Lanka to win the World Cup and get a admirable position in the world cricket map.

Well according to Sourav Ganguly is the best captain this generation.
