myLot is too much Fun I should be....

I just realized I have been playing on myLot for 4 hours and in the meantime there are 10 other things I should be doing such as working on a writing assignment, doing dishes, picking up the house, and calling my ISP (sub-zero temps have lowly old dial connection not connecting). Do you sometimes find yourself spending time on myLot when you should be doing something else? If so what should you be doing, do you feel quilty, will there be repercussions for your actions? I am going off here and get to work, really I am, yep as soon as I start this discussion!

I am quite often unable to tear myself away from Mylot in order to go take care of other things that I should. I have a friend who I have not emailled for a week or more because I spend so much time on here.. or rather, that's a big part of the reason that I have not gotten around to emailing back yet, anyway. And i do feel badly about it. But I also am having so much trouble making money online (on other sites, I mean) lately that I need to spend lots of time on here typing away for money, so I can't feel too awful for doing it. This is my only source of income for now, online sites like Mylot, so I really do have a good excuse to be here a lot. But there are still things that I need to be working on that I have not got around to because of this site! *laugh*

Along with freelance writing I was promoting several different online programs and making very little money. Since I've signed with myLot I haven't done anything with the other programs. I would like to get this going good, like get some referrals but want to be familiar with it before I do that so I can help others when they join.

doomshiva I'm honored you choose one of my discussions to make your first response. You did great! I've seen several people say that since they've been on mylot their English has improved so maybe the same will be true for you. Good luck and enjoy.

Well, considering I've adjusted to a forum life long ago I'm not really addicted. However, I'll admit that not Mylot, but the internet in general, keeps me distracted quite often. Right now I'm meant to be writing out a letter to an author yet here I am.. posting here.

LOL - I did great, while I managed to tear myself away I gathered enough research for a whole chapter.

I'm new to myLot, but I can definitely see it creating a distraction for me when I should be working. The internet in general seems to cause the problem for me, but I somehow manage to get my work done regardless...how is unbeknownst to me most of the time. *grin*

Mylot is really fun! sometimes, i don't get to finish my homework, of course, i feel guilty about this but at least i enjoyed posting here in mylot. sometimes, i don't even think about the earnings that i will receive as long as i get to post good replies and discussions and people get to appreciate it.

Yes I always spend more time on mylot than I should or what I have planed to, yesterday was my first day without mylot since I joined about 2 months ago as my profile says.. i was away most of the day and when I came here I still could have spent some time in mylot but I just took a look and stopped myself from posting anything :) Very often mylot keeps me from doing other things even at work :( but that is the way it is with the internet in general, once you are busy with something that grabs your attention it's hard to leave..with mylot it's never ending as it keeps you coming back day after day ..

Agree with you 100% both on internet and mylot. Part of my work involves doing online research before I write and I can't tell you how many times I've found a dozen other things to check out, download, sign up for, etc! Stay on track! That's what I need to do.

Yes I spend too much time on mylot and other forums. It's easy to stay here and respond "one more time" than think about writing the article and need to get finished today - LOL

Yea just got email from my "boss" he wants an idea when I'll have this ebook done. How to I tell him "I don't know, I'd rather play on mylot for approx $1.50 a day than to collect $700 when I finish the ebook." Think I'd best pass on that and get busy.

Oh Yeah! 100% agreement. I do believe I have become addicted to this site. I love to come here and can be on this site for hours and not even realize the time that passes by. The discussions are excellent and the responses show many different ways to look at a idea. I have dishes siting in the kitchen sink right now and made the mistake of booting up my computer and right away the first site I come to is mylot. I love to browse the discussions and see what new and interesting things are being brought up. I will only be here for a little while longer on this site and then I will go and do the dishes. Yeah, right, addition here big time.

Yep I read a lot too and find a lot of interesting stuff. Funny thing was yesterday several times I caught myself reading a whole strink on a discussion and then not even responding - no idea why I didn't just didn't think of it.

Yeah I keep finding myself here. The bad thing is I read way more than I post. Part of it is I am having writers block and hope to steal er get story ideas from people's posts.

Yes, to much time. I've been on as long as you today, but I've been dressing up my profile page. There are quite a few things I should be doing, like cleaning the house, listing about 5 items on ebay. Chatting with the kids to see how they are doing. But, NO, here I sit, typing away. The big problem is the incoming mail sound, every time I go to leave it rings, and it's someone from mylots with a new discussion.

Yesterday was my second day at MyLot. I kept bring myself back to the computer to see if anything new had been posted. It is kind of addicting. I only wish the money happened instantly so I could watch it go up. I'm all about instant gratification.

I should be playing with my kids more. They sit and watch cartoons and I figure I can sit ans chat for 30 minutes and next time I check my watch its been an hour and I still have a ton of housework to do. When will I ever learn?

LOL - that SO sounds like me ... I just so easily lose track of time here. I often just have it running in the background but then as soon as my mail alerts me that someone on my friends list has posted something new i come back on over. As for doing the housework - i could find a million things to occupy my time so i don't have to do it *laughs* but i'll get there eventually Oooh - only one more comment til you hit 300! go go go!

Faith when i read this I had a good chuckle. I had woken up at 2:14am and was not sleepy so I went on-line! And of course you know where I came to. There are simply not enough hours in the day. There are so many responses to make! LOL.

I think this discussion has gotten more responses than all the rest of my discussions put together. And I am so addicted I don't know what I'm going to do - going to end up in the poor house but will somehow keep my computer and interent so I can stay on mylot.
