Do you recycle? How do you take care of the planet? What things do you do that perhaps you could pass on to others to help save the planet? Any successful ideas? Please share it around so we can all participate. Thanks!

I try to recycle everything. At home I recycle paper, plastic, cardboard, glass, newspaper and metals. I also reuse alot of things like shopping bags, mailing supplies, clothing and so forth. I also use re-usable totes when I do my shopping for the week. I also take recycling home from work, and encourage my coworkers to do the same. I also make sure to recycle hazardous materials like motor oil (my boyfriend does this), nailpolish, batteries.

I recycle in many different forms, some of them in small ways, other not so much. I recycle cans, bottles, plastic goods, and newspapers. Also, I use old clothing as rags, and I don't buy paper for notes, etc., I just reuse old scratch paper.

Sounds great! Do you compost at all? Have you heard of a worm farm?

I use our recycling bin at home that was provided. I also take cans down to a recycling center as well. I try not to litter and drive a car that gets good gas mileage.

If you have clutter and/or items around your house you dont want to be bothered with selling or taking to the dump - then Freecycle is for you at www.freecycle.org for a Freecycle group in your area. Freecycle is international. Recycle items to avoid overfilling the garbage dumps and make space in your home. One man's trash is another man;s treasure" truely applies here. I have given away so many things that I almost trashed that someone wanted and even came and carted it away. You can put in requests, too, and from there I received a free handicapped electric lift recliner worth over $400.00 someone didnt need anymore! The only requirement is that you cant give away forbidden items like explosives and such and everything must be FREE, you cant barter, exchange or sell. Try it yourself!

I support this comment very much! I have also been on Freecycle for about 12months. Its a fantastic way to prevent land fill and help yourself and others in the process. Its a win win situation!

Our school has a recycling program. I only remember to recycle bottles/cans outside of school.
