though you said that those are Filipinos usual bad habits but still if pinoys are all educated we still stand out from other country. we have lots of successful people working abroad & excel on the fields they have & much more on the medical areas that pinoy are the majority good practitioners! it's just that pinoys do usually have the crab mentallity ! they don't want others to be successful ahead of themselves . JEALOUSY ! poor attitude . . . instead we are optimistic but the other side of the mind buzz for what they can do to others that will not excel ahead of their way.

Sorry, I really don't know what this discussion is all about. We are what we are, Filipino or in our case Canadian, so what should we excuse?

I love your topic. It's very entertaining. We as Filipinos can really identify each other with the things I've read here. Some are bad and some are good.I just hope we can retain the good and vanish the bad ones. Whenever we see children getting the elders hands and having it touch the back of the elders hand on their forehead, I would know right then that those kids are Filipinos. Its sign of respect for elders.

you know your a filipino if pay respect to elder people by using "po" or "opo". You are a filipino if you are always smiling even you have problems. You are a filipino if you would not send your parents in the home for aged but instead you will take care of them till they grow old. You know your a filipino if you would risk working in other country just to support the needs of your family. You are a filipino if you can eat balot!

You know you're a Filipino if you're not surprised that movie or tv celebrities run for government positions, and win!

You are a Filipino when we bathe more that 2 times a day. In Saudi Arabia my friends would buy mineral water so that they can bathe. In the UK even when it's very cold and they came home from work, Filipinos would shower and change their clothes. We are Filipinos when we iron our clothes for a small crease and change our uniforms everyday.... LOL

Well, that is a good one. Sorry, but I do not know the habits of Filipinos. So, I have nothing to share here at all.

we Filipinos are very hospitable like when there are visitors coming into our house we welcome them by the whole family. we treat them as special or as one of the member of the family.

It made me smile when i saw your discussion. Sometimes it's really funny to think that "we" have some little oddities that makes us unique than other races. Let me add: (these are what i could think right now) We sometimes point to something using our lips instead of our hands. Younger people oftentimes call those older than they "Tito/Tita" (Uncle/Aunt) even if they aren't really relatives to show respect. "Pssst" or "Hoy" are sometimes our way of calling somebody we don't know by name.

Another one: Your homeland is the text capital of the world. You'll send txt msg just to say "hi", "gud d" or "hw r u?"..& mostly jokes & sweet nothings..

Haha yeah! Or when you turn around when you hear someone saying, "psssst". Back in high school, some of us would say, "pssssst" to someone who was walking by, then we'd say "cheap". Hahahaha! I can't even recall where that came from.

I'm not absolutely sure bput this, but it proved me right so far. You're a filipino if you have a "Last Supper" picture in the your dining room. May it be an expensive painting, a cheap poster, a cross stitch creation, or anything. Filipinos just to have a 'Last Supper". --Agreee?

when you say " ha" instead of pardon me? when you say "for a while" or "wait a minute" instead of just a moment when you text instead of call the person.

You know a Filipino if:When you ask for direction he doesn't point out where you need to go but instead he uses his lips to point into the direction that you need to go or otherwise uses his head to point out which direction to go. Always greet a person"Sir" and "Ma'am" even that person is nobody. Calls a Friend even when he is far away by yelling "HOY" or waving his hands. Greets a FRIEND or co Filipino not by saying hi or hello but trying to make eye contact and moves up and down his eyebrows and smiles. During town festival, all kinds of local cakes and pastries are cooked for the guests and Roasted Pig is the Main course. During mealtime, fish sauce, soysauce, hot and sour sauce are considered for dipping anything fried foods served and leaves a mark in the placemats. In the restaurant, he signals for the waiter after eating the ordered meal and gestures through his hands a square shaped sign and the waiter would promptly bring the bill. Kiss the hands of the elderly and do it to all relatives even in the third degree.

You know you're a filipino if: You keep a tabo in your bath rooms. You use your fingers to measure the water you need to cook rice. You eat with your hands. You eat more than three times a day. You eat your meal with a spoon or fork and you cut your meat with a fork Hehheh this is kinda funny but true:)

You eat rice three times a day. You think hamburgers, sandwiches and the like, are snacks, not meals. You have rice cooker in the kitchen. You bring "pasalubong" gifts to your friends and love ones from a trip. You have a friendster account. Wow! Too many tmnjyk!!! I could think of sooo many traits we have that makes us unique. I know some more, but I will let other Pinoys add it up here in your lists. I like your discussion, I think this is funny.

We are the only ones who use a "balikbayan box" to carry most of our stuff when going out (or in) of the country from abroad. Some people have actually called it the Pinoy Samsonite. Hehehe!
