Is it me or has it happened to you too?

I just replied to a newbie and before I replied, the number beside the asker's name is 0. Then I posted my reply and this number becomes 1. I had that experience with others too, with bigger numbers but this time I actually checked on the profile and the asker has never posted any replies so far plus only posted one question which was the one I answered. Is this how the numbers beside our names add up?

I think that if you're the first one who responded to the asker's discussion, then it will be a score of 1 (one) added to the previous score. The corresponding responses aren't being recorded anymore, but I read from somewhere here that myLot gives compensation too for the succeeding responses (but the amount is less), so you won't be able to keep track of how much exactly you're gonna be earning because they're not included in the scores. So, the more replies, the more earnings. In short, to answer your question, the number next to your name/ID/avatar refers to the number of new discussions you have posted which was answered by at least one person, plus the number of discussions you have responded to. No score for unanswered new discussions.

The way I udnerstood it is that when you start a discussion, your post count doesn't go up - but when the first person replies to it, your post count goes up by one - so you are really getting credit for a post - it's just delayed credit. So - if you are the first responder, then yes, your post will increase the posters count by one - but since they didn't get credit for their original post, it all works out in the end. Hmm... did that make sense?

I don't know that. I thought you have to get 10 responses to your topic before getting 1 cent

That has happened to me before and I just assumed it was because they answered a question at the same time as I answered them. I thought our numbers went up as we answered more, not when people answered ours.
