When you find a discussion or a response that appeals to you, go to the person's profile and respond to some of his/her discussions from their profile. If you find that you have things in common, or that you like to debate courteously on opposite sides, ask that person to be a friend.
It is then easy to keep in touch with friends by working from "discussions my friends started".

Yup! You make good topic and great friends by doing that. I have actually made a couple of really good and sensible friends by sticking with my interests. =)

Yes,I do so but not by making friend with all. I have many interest but cannot express here in mylot due to short span of space or I do not like to bulky my profile. I also respond with people have difference with my interest because only with same interest discussions not enough or to respond others discussion have extra thrill and joy here. I also read discussions similar to my interest if those I do not respond. In fact when I read discussions, response then I forget my own interest and eager to read others interest too.

yes,i keep in touch with people who have the same interests on mylot,we have the same interests and same feelings,so we can discuss a lot of things together.i don't know them well,but it is not important,a friend indeed needn't to see each other!

i am fairly new in here..at the moment i try to post on their discussions..i have made a few close friends who we pm each other yes..i such a short time..i have even been invited as a guest also..which makes me feel very honoured..this is a great place..

Not that much but you know it because most of that kind of people will voluntarily visit my own discussion to see what's new topic I had posted in. The same goes in me whenever I find someone here that posted a discussion that caught my interest, I visit his/her profile to find more of his/her topics and see if I can respond some of it. Like the old saying "birds with same feather, are the same bird" he..he..he...LOL.
