Do you like Standard Poodles?

Wondering what your opinion is of the largest variety of Poodles? I think most people either love them or hate them. Personally I never really liked them in the past because you alsways see them clipped with that crazy looking hairstyle of pompoms and fluff. In recent years though I have known of some where the owner didn't do that hair clipping on them and I have actually started to really like them a lot. I hope someday to own a standard poodle.

They are very intelligent dogs, and so long as you cut their hair the same length all over they don't look stupid. I personally like standard poodles a lot. Growing up I had a friend who had two of them and they were wonderful dogs.

Growing up we had a variety of different poodles, a couple tea-cup poodles, and a few toy poodles, But never a Standard Poodle. But my quess would that, just like the smaller ones, they would probably have the same nice and loving personality. They do seem to play favorites (and over protect thier owner). But I never minded that so much, having a pain in the butt brother and all....

What is it about them that disgust you? Disgust is a pretty strong word to use so I'm curious.

Considering most of us here are major poodle lovers, it is rather hard to fathom why someone would feel disgust abourt them. I too am interested in his reasoning.
