Leave Computer On = Money?

Like most people here on MyLot, I'm trying to find ways to supplement my income. I was wondering if anyone has tried those deals that say they pay you for leaving your computer on... I haven't done much research yet, but it has something to do with search engines. It sounds too good to be true - so it probably is, but I just wanted to hear from somebody who knows something about it.

I tried on called Gomez Peer, I had it for about a month. I think I earned like 12 cents. It wasn't worth it. My computer would freeze up randomly and every spyware said it was high risk.

Hey friends, there are some sites, which says that, they will pay us if we keep the site browser active. Every 20 minutes, their add will change automatically and we will paid was seeing those adds. One such site is surfjunky. I was a member of that site and I reached my minimum payout too. But its a spam site as I never received my payment.

I have never heard of a place that has said that if you leave your computer on, you would earn money. Where did you read that? Just curiosity. I would like to read it to understand how they could claim such a thing. Usually, if it sounds to good to be true...then it is. LOL I would read the fine print. Because if anything, you might be out a bit more money for the electric you use to leave your computer on. haha
