These tips are from www.wildrosess.com , it's a website with lovely natural herbal products like soap, skin care, essential oils. - 1/4 cup of dry powdered milk in your bath is a good skin conditioner and cleanser - 1 tbsp canola oil in the bath moisturizes dry skin - apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse removes buildup on the hair and rinses clean - if you make carrot juice in a juicer, mix the leftover pulp with a few drops of olive oil and a bit of honey for a nutritious face mask - peppermint oil deters insects, especially ants. Mix 2-3 drops oil per ounce of water in a spray bottle, spritz on entry points - after mopping/cleaning countertops, vinegar in the rinse water removes oils and prevents growth of bacteria and mold - to remove contaminants from grocery store produce, soak in a sink full of cool water and 1/4 cup vinegar or lemon juice and 1/4 cup salt. Leave for 10-15 minutes then rinse thoroughly with cool clean water - to make your own easy face mask, put 1 cup regular oats in a blender with 1 tbsp dried peppermintput, process until it's a fine powdery texture. Then put fresh or frozen strawberries in a blender until it's a smooth liquid, and add some of the powder to make a paste. Spread on face, let dry, and rinse off with warm water for a lovely exfoliating, nourishing face mask! I'd love to hear your recipes for homemade beauty products, bath products or face masks!

Thank you for your awesome tips. I will be sure to try some of them out, especially the oatmeal/peppermint/strawberry facemask. That one sounds yummy. I find it very interesting, the things we can do with items that we already have around the house. I use oatmeal in the bath all of the time. Just put about a cup of oatmeal into a clean, old sock, that doesn't have a mate.Tie a knot in the sock, and WELLA!! Luxury for pennies. Put that in your water when you are bathing, it works great for people with dry, itchy skin. I am looking forward to any more tips that you might share, in the future.

Well, these ones weren't my ideas, but I do like finding things I can make in my own kitchen when I can't afford to buy such luxuries! Oatmeal is really versatile, it adds a bit of exfoliation in face masks, and moisturizes in the bath! I'll try to remember some of my other recipes for face masks and stuff like that...

Here's one recipe for making bath bombs: Sieve together 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, 1/2 cup corn starch until smooth and blended. Set aside. Combine the following and mix thoroughly- 2 1/2 tbsp sweet almond or corn oil, 3/4 tbsp water, 2 tsp of your favorite fragrance/essential oil, a few drops food coloring, 1/4 tsp borax. Slowly drizzle wet mixture onto dry ingredients and blend completely. Pack tightly into bath bomb molds (you can even use an old ice cube tray for small bath fizzies), let dry overnight, then slide out onto wax paper and let sit for another day. Then plop one in the bathtub and enjoy!
