Do you celebrate V-day?

I still can't think of a gift for my hubby for Valentine's Day. We've been a couple for eight years but this is just the second year we are celebrating V-day together. So I wanted to give him something unique and memorable. But when I asked a male co-worker for ideas, he said I shouldn't worry about it because Valentine's Day is for girls anyway. Yet another co-worker said that Valentine's Day is just a made-up Holiday, all for commercial propaganda by retailers. What is the history of Valentine's Day anyway? Do you celebrate it? How?

We do celebrate it either before or after the 14th of Feb, this year I don't know yet how we'll celebrate it, we just have dinner, and he gives me gifts in the past.

We plan on going out for a quick movie and dinner as well, but for sure it's going to be packed everywhere we go. That's why we have to decide where and when soon, and make a reservation, if it's not too late. Enjoy!

I really want to celebrate V day but Im still not sure what to do. I usualy get my hubby a small gift and he forgets. That is like our tradition. This year I have been throwing hints to him. I hope he gets them. Im thinking we might do a nice family dinner and watch a love story. We have 2 kids and I dont know wo to ask to watch them since they could be celebrating also. Id like it to be special but Im not going to hold my breath.

Me, too. We still don't know who to ask to watch the kids when we go out. For sure, we can't go out on the 14th as everybody else would be celebrating that day. We're planning to celebrate it the following weekend instead.

I don't really know how Valentine's day started but I don't think V-day is just for us girls only. Valentines day for me is the best time to rekindle and fire up a relationship. It's a spice in our lovelife. When we talk of relationships, we talk of partners, lovers and it takes two to build a relationship so it's not for girls only, it's for both partners. When I give valentines gift, I don't just buy him the regular stuff, sometimes I don't buy at all, I just write my hubby a letter which I don't usually do that's why he's surprised receiving it. For me it's not about materials things, it's all about how you remembered your partner and how you exert effort celebrate your love.
