Just a big thank you to everyone who responded to my 'brand new start' poem (an ode to depression) I was overwhelmed by the response, support and messages if I just helped one person I have achieved a great deal. I would also like to share another of my poems, this poem is an ode to bullying and that bullying doesn't just happen to you as a child it affects adults too. Bully Me Not Spit on me, I don't care, Hit me, I don't care, Laught at me, I don't care, But please, please don't call me those names, Sure, I've heard them all before, I know em off by heart My mind plays em back like a stuck gramophone record I shall remember those names five years on, I shall remember those names ten years on, I shall remember those names fifty years on, I shall remember those names till my dying days Why do you do that to me? Why don't you care? Don't you know I hurt? I may not show it, you may think I'm strong, But deep down, I'm not that strong, You want me to show my weaknesses, You want to make me the laughing stock, You think you're brave, I am not, You're just cowards, but I cannot say, I walk on in silence, I sit there in silence, No one can help, I'm all alone, You may have won, You have had your fun, But I'll guess you'll never know, Exactly what harm you have done. 28 May 2003 Thank you for reading. Brian x

You're good with words, Wolfie. I still say you should look into getting published, seriously. Get paid for that talent, my friend.

If you've ever heard an adult — or anyone else — say that bullying is "just a fact of life" or "no big deal," you're not alone! Too often, people just don't take bullying seriously - There are all kinds of reasons why young people bully others, either occasionally or often. Maybe because they see others doing it or because it's what they think they have to do to hang out with the right crowd. Maybe its one of the best ways to keep others from bullying them or even because it makes they feel, stronger, smarter, or better than the person they are bullying. Whatever the reason, bullying is something we all need to think about ... we all need to recognise that bullying has a terrible effect on the lives of young people and can effect their lives forever.… It is now required by law in UK that your child's school has an anti-bullying policy which sets out how it deals with incidents of bullying. Its not just children that get bullied, Bullying can happen anywhere at any age... Thankfully there is now lots of advice online about being bullied; http://www.childline.org.uk/Bullying.asp http://www.nobully.org.nz/advicek.htm http://www.parentscentre.gov.uk/educationandlearning/schoollife/ifthingsgowrong/bullyingproblems/ Youe poems are very moving, I am sure you have made a lot of people think about bullying. Well done, xxx

I read the poem and it bought back all the things i had buried deep inside me, being afraid, feeling not good enough and it never totally leaves you! Your very brave for sharing this because i know one of the things i learnt was not to show how much i was hurting. x
