hello tell me 1+1=2

Hi hello tell me that 1+1=2 ok it is correct but how 1*1=1 why it is not 2

Answer to this question lies in definition of addition and multiplication. 1+1 means if we add 1 with 1 but will be the result? Answer is 2. Now 1*1 means, How many 1's do we need require to get a result of 1. So answer is 1. That's why 1+1 =2 and 1*1=1.

When you are adding it it becomes 2 and when you are multiplying it it becomes only 1.

Very simple. 1 + 1 means that you put two one's in a pile. Then you have 2, right? 1X1 means that you put a one in a pile one time. Then you still have only 1. I really don't believe you didn't already know that.
