Have you ever stoped to think, What am I here for? Why was I ever born. Well I feel like my purpose is to help kids. I love working with kids. There are so many out there that does not have a good homelife. Some that come to my church have not even had a meal that whole day. It just kills me to see a kid suffer. Kids are my passion and if I can help one child, just to see a child smile. well that is worth living for.

In detail I would say that everyone is blessed with some type of talent. With this talent you can either build or destroy and the choice is yours. However I feel that if you use your talent for evil then you are serving the devil and will spend eternity with him. However if you use your talents to help people and do good deeds then you are serving God and will ultimately spend eternity with him. So here's my process, I like to keep things simple..... 1) Write down all of your talents. 2) Select the one you are best at. 3) Select the one you feel will help the most people. 4) See if you can combine the two to make a positive impact on the world. Do this and you'll be amazed at how the ideas start pouring in. When you do things for a good cause instead of for your selfish desires God will always see to it that you are successful. He is the best business partner in the world. I hope this helps you out. Good luck here at mylot. I'm giving you a positive rating to help you along.

That is so true. Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone followed all ten of the commandments?

I think it often what was my purpose why God let me live here in earth. I just make everything worth living. I value the gift of life God has given me and i'm thankful for everything. He made me what i am now. Our purpose here is to overcome difficulties.

Yes, I think I'm going to be a mom. I want to help people...I want to make plenty of money. Have a great marriage, and make meaningful relationships. I want to help mentor the youth and make their lives better. I was thinking of owning an educational institution. Affordable and for those that have a dream..and those that need hope.

At times in my life I have wondered what my purpose was, but now with age and experience behind me and a much better relationship with God I have found my true calling. God gave me a voice for a reason, He wants me to sing for His glory so that others can hear through my songs His truth. I'm also here to help my children and other children to understand the gifts that He gave to them and let them express their gifts in their own way. Life is always worth living once we know what God has planned for us.

I haven't learned that, but I have a friend at my old church that is trying to teach me sign language so that I can sign while I sing. My fingers just don't seem to want to work that way LOL

What we do in some songs is sign. In alot of them we act them out. Or we make up a sign for it. There is a conference that goes on every year in columbia SC. If you are interested, let me know and I will get you all the info you need. It is great and you learn alot.

I also was abused in my first marriage. He almost killed me. Instead of letting a bad thing happen in my life and never fixing it. I turned it around and brought the good out. I as yourself know what it feels like and you can help where other people cant. It is hard talking to someone about your abuse and they have never lived through it. Use that experience and help others.

Thats a beautiful thing to say that your purpose in life is to help kids.I agree that there are so many kids suffering in today society and a litle bit of help goes a long way. Alot of people stand back and think well I car'nt do anything about this or that, on my own but if you start the ball rolling and get your mission out there anyway you can then who knows how far that little bit of help will go. I know for sure my mission here is to help other people of all ages, I seem to put others first before myself, which is just my nature, I never want anything in return and although you may think Oh yeh I'm sure she does, but I automatically do it without thinking, its just part of my make-up.

I understand compleatly. You may not want nothing back, but I feel like where there are people like you, there is a special place for them in Heaven. There are not many people out there anymore that feels the way you feel.

i really dont know what is our specific purpose why we exist ..but if im going to refer it to the bible i would rather say that God after making all those things , the earth, sky and animals He was happy and yet like to create a higher living thing which will watch and take care of all creations and that was then that adam was created...but still He found out that adam is lonely in paradise and need companion then eve was then created and then God was satisfied with his own creation...if we are going to ponder all these we can surely arrive to conclusion that we are here because God wants us to protect all His creation ...and that we must coexist and love one another...

I did when I was single. But somehow after being married, I feel like I know my purpose, which is to build a family, having kids etc. Of course I still have to work to ease financial burden, but I know that all our hard works will be useless without having a family to enjoy it with.

Two books I own and promise to read soon are: "The Purpose Driven Life" and one by my favorite author Max Lucado "Cure for the Common Life". Both books are about finding your purpose in the world. Right now my only purpose is to publish things, live for God, take care of my little dog and cat, try to find a job. Eventually I want to be a wife, a mother and live in either Los Angeles or New York City. I want to be a broadcast journalist and a published writer of books memoirs and poetry. What is your purpose? I dont know it totally. I dont think I am ready for marriage and not near it. I'm 27 now and it feels old to say it. Hopefully I'll know more by the time I turn 30 in 2009 :))

My purpose in life is to raise my kids. It is also to make people happy and brighten their day. I always try to have a smile on my face even in my bad moments. I am very optimistic and my joy of life tends to spill over onto others.

I have learned that if you smile at someone, they usually smile back. Who knows that might be the first smile they had all day.

Yet another rhetorical, but yet so controversial thread at our hand. Personally, I believe that the purpose of life is to assist ourselves in our endeavors while experiencing bursts of ecstasy, but this is not always the case as life has its inevitable nature of flaws. We need to take a first hand look at our moral clauses and scope it to a level where we think we are benefiting the community. We can't simply be selfish, like Rockefeller did, who totally demolished the global economy as we are still relying on foreign oil while we may have economically-efficient electric cars today. I'd like to see the responses of my peers to continue this discussion.

I think my purpose in life is to learn as much as I possibly can and put that knowledge to good use. I want to be able to not just help people but also the environment and the animals we share this planet with.

Yes sometimes I have stopped and thought to myself what am I here for and why was I born. That is a great job that you do to work with children I love them too, and I agree with you that so many suffer from not havign a good homelife. Yes it is worth living to be able to help others and especially the children, I recently have a little grandson and I know that he will be loved so much and will not suffer what other children have to but I don't understand why do they have to suffer so much surely people that can afford it should be helping out more.

There are so many people out there that could help. They talk big but do little. I have a friend that is from Africa and she told me somthing that stuck with me forever. "One person can't raise a child, It takes a village to raise a child" I love that statement.

We are all here to remember unconditional love, and to create heaven on earth. How we go about doing that is an individual path and unique lessons. But it all boils down to these two things: remember unconditional love, and create heaven on earth.

I really don't know. There was a time that I thought that my purpose was simply to write. And part of me still believes that. To let others feel through my words. But then there are smaller things. I don't believe that anyone has just one purpose in life. I think it is a mixture, and I believe that everyone will come to know their purpose at a different time in their life.

i have not fully known my purpose, it was just recently that i really decided to give my life to Him and life is just wonderful as He showed me. i believe he gave me this vision to share my life experiences to others to touch their lives and to finally come back to our good Lord. I feel for those people that thinks life is misserable and to those people who is hopeless and doesn't know where and who to hold on to in tough times. i've been through that situation and it is really hard when you don't know Him so i wanted to share that experience with them to give them comfort and hope. i haven't found my talents or things i am good at, but i know everyone is gifted and that is to be used for one's purpose in life. Maybe my talent is just to tell stories to people to give them encouragement, who knows. =)

Personally i believe i'm here to be a better person and to make to give something instead of being selfish and just taking from people. I would also add that bringing and loving my family would be a huge part of my purpose in life and i'll do what it takes for them to know how much i appreciate what they do. ~Joey
