Why there is such a big presence of Indians in Orkut?????????

Its got to do with the population of the country...Compared to the population of the India , its just a very small part of it present in Orkut.

I don't think it's just Orkut. Most major social network sites have a strong Indian presence. I think Indians just tend to be more "wired" than Americans and spend more time with technology, so it would be a logical conclusion to find that most major social networks like Orkut, Multiply and so on would have a strong Indian presence. They are more accustomed to using the technology to organize and do social things than Americans are. Americans tend to just call up friends and meet at the local bar. Most of my friends think that meeting up online is anti-social.

well my friend indians are not only in huge amount in orkut but also this place,yeah even in mylot indians dominate,just check users by location on the left hand bottom corner,and i think that indians join this because they like free things and even i do,orkut is free to join even mylot is,hi5,myspace but the biggest bang is orkut coz people grow everyday.

I feel Indians are good in using any means for healthy communication.

Well, except for demographical facts (READ: population), I think its because they spend more of their time 'socializing' on the internet mre than anything else. I have never been to India and have never met an Indian so these are just pure speculations.

infact,it is a goos feature to have a big presence of indians on orkut.it shows that they gorw up with time,they r becoming modern with time,more 'n' more people are owing internet facility alongwith pc's.also,keeping india's population in mind,it is not a big amount or presency.

If this is true that it seems that indians are taking much interest in this orkut and they are the most free people in this world.

The reason Indians are found in plenty on orkut is that Indians are virtually everywhere. Another reason may be that Indians like socializing and like lazing around more than people from the west which is why they always end up using the computer.

u can expect this to happen from a worlds second highest populated country which ever social site u visit u are sure to find indians dominating that site

indians have a big presence on orkut as it is the most popular in india. in other countries it is not that popular.there are other sites which are popular in o0ther places .for eg. people in canada and US use facebook rather than orkut.

infact it is good feature that there is a big presence of indians on orkut.i think that this is so coz,indians are growing with time very rapidly,there is a very rapid change in india's economy 'n' indians are not aware of others sites fully(like mylot,hi5 etc.).so may b this ine of the reason.
