Do you dream in black and white or colour?

Does anyway know whether we dream in colour? I can't think of a dream that has had colour in it! Have you dreamed in colour and can you tell me how you knew it was colour?

Wow, I hadn't thought about it until you asked, and I've been sitting her racking my brain trying to remember last night's dream. I'm pretty sure my dreams are only black and white as nothing stands out from past dreams as being in color. I have a very frightful recurring dream where I am locked in a dishwasher and yet I can see out of the dishwasher. (It has a little window in it like some ovens)I can see my family outside the dishwasher looking in at me, yet they do not open the dishwasher and get met out! I don't remember their faces being in color nor can I remember the gross water and food particles that are swishing around me having color. I welcome all comments about what this strange dream means and how to quit having the dream!

Gosh I'm glad I've inspired you to think about your dream. Thats definately a weird one and one that would suggest to me that you may feel left out of your family activities in someway - do they do a sport or some recreation activity that you don't take part in? I'm no expert but I do love dream interperatation and read tons and tons of books on the subject! Thanks for participating and I hope you get to the bottom of your dream!

Thank you very much for the 'best response.' I have actually been giving your suggestion some thought, and I do sometimes not participate in what they are doing...as I am too busy grading papers or whatever. I think I will try participating more and letting the work go !!!

I dream mainly in black and white, but occasionally I have dreamed in colour. I'm not sure why that is... do you have an answer, Bizzie? It's something I never thought about before, but you put me in the position where I had to think and really and truly, I can only remember one with colour in it. That's a strange thing, isn't it? Blessed be!

It is very strange isn't it? I cannot for the life of me think whether I dream in colour or black and white - I'm sure that I've read somewhere that most people dream in black and white!

I think mine are mostly black and white; the only time I remember seeing anything in color is when there is blood involved. The zombie and alien dreams are usually in muter colors; black, white, gray, dark green. As I have said before, I am sure that if a shrink got a hold of me and started asking me questions, he or she would have a field day trying to figure out what this all means LOL

I somehow always dream in colors. I remember them when I woke up so I know it's in colors, but usually very pale, not vivid. I have no idea how I knew it was color, it was when I remembered it. Color affect me deeply. I sued to work in an office where the walls are white and I just couldn't stand working there.

It's quite strange isn't it, I don't even know what I dream in colour or black and white, I try to remember but i'm not sure whether the colour is something I add in when I'm remembering if that makes sense!

Wow! I don't think that I've ever dreamed in black and white, not even once. If I did, I don't remember it. I do usually dream pretty surrealistic things, though. Or rather, I dream about every day things, but the dreams have strange and surrealistic elements in them. Sometimes these things make perfect sense during the dream, somehow, yet when I wake up I'll think how in the world did i think that that was "Normal" even in the dream, lol!!! But yes.. I always dream in color. I'm not sure why you don't?

I honestly can't remember whether I do or not, I know it sounds mad, cause I can remember absolutely tons of dreams but I really don't know whether they are colour or not!!

lately I've been dreaming in very vivid color- last night i dreamt of my sister in law (who was my best friend and passed away 12 yrs ago) and we were going to a class reunion. I can still see all my girlfriends in their colorful gowns, I love when I dream about her- cause I miss her and when I dream about her it feels like she came over the house and we visited for a while, then I don't miss her so much.

I have dreams in colour, often a muted shade of purple for some reason. I can sometimes remember details of a dream simply because I remember the colour. There have been times when I have dreamed with sounds too, although these are usually nightmares.

It depends on the dream, I do both. I also smell things that I dream about even after I wake up.

As far as I know(from what I've been told) the majority of people dream in black and white....and supposed to be about 10% (maybe less) that dream in colour. Personally I've always dreamed in colour and do have complete re-collection of all my dreams and nightmares! LOL I can even remember dreams from several years ago... now that's scary!

I have dreamt in both color and black and white. I think the black and white dreams are more interesting though. I mostly dream in color. The colors in my dreams are usually either very vibrant and bright, or else they are muted and have kind of a swirly effect. I used to keep a dream journal and write everything down as soon as I wake up. Certain colors you see in your dreams mean certain things as well if you look at dream interpretation books.

I actually ONLY dream in colour..I cant ever remember having a "black and white" dream come to think of it....How can I tell its in colour, because I remember it vividly...I have also felt different textures in dreams as well as smelled different scents too though both of those are very rare....

My dreams are just like I'm actually awake and doing normal things. Sometimes strange things happen in them, though. I know that they are color because I remember a lot of them when I wake up.
