Does anyone write poetry? Do you have a favorite poem, sonnet, or prayer you'd like to share?
I love to read poetry. It can be romantic, meaningful, or funny.

Dr. Seuss was an all-time favorite that I still read to my kids too!

I like writing songs and poetry but they're not much in terms of standard I think. Love Shakespeare- doing 12th Night for Literature in school now. Here's my favourite sonnet of his #116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

how's this?
I sensed the end was near.
I saw the emptiness in his eyes.
I heard the troubled sounds of
his breathing.
I felt him slipping away…
I continued to hope…and dream…
But the raging waters ran
too deep, consuming
everything ---
except his soul.
