In 2003 The Dixie Chicks said they were ashamed the president was from Texas

I am a fan of the Dixie Chicks also, and I always was against the Bush Clan, but I was very objective when I heard that they were talking badly about the Pres. in the UK. I also agreed that they had the right to freedom of speech, we are not obligated to like our president, just because he is in power. The problem that we have here in the states, is that people are very judgemental. We act like the most non-judgemental nation, but we are. And the fact that fans of the Dixie Chicks were boycotting their work back when it happened, shows the fickleness of the fans. We do not have to like Bush, I am ashamed that he is even our president. I have a huge discussion, on my mylot page about how I feel about him, if anyone is interested, they can read my sarcastic theory.

I would be so proud of myself if it was me that said what the chicks said. Bushy need a good slap in the face and to open his eyes and look what he has now done, so many solders will not be coming home because of him just think about there familys that wont be seeing their son's or daughters. He will get voted out next election!

I agree completely. I was outraged at the reaction to the Dixie Chicks. They are artists,and somehow our society got to the scary place of attempting to censor them, of course not everyone felt that way, but many people did. It is frustrating to me that just a few years ago the majority of people supported Bush and the war. I was personally protesting this war before it even started. I dont know why it took so many people dying before people started to question the war and the president.
