If it were me....I would just buy the boys/family a nintendo wii. It is fun for all different ages and you can purchase different games for different interests. I have a nintendo wii and my ENTIRE family....parents, siblings, etc. all LOVE it. It seriously makes for endless amounts of fun and playing. Also, it can help your boys/family bond a little more.

Yeah, a Nintendo Wii would probably be best for your family. It's affordable and has a wide range of games to appeal to. Perhaps best of all it has great 'same-room' multiplayer (everyone playing together in the family den, or something). Great fun (and funny) times for all.

There are full size arcade systems that can play multiple systems but you're better off going to mame.com and getting some game roms & playing off your pc. If you really want an arcade game, you can probably pick up a classic game for under $500

I know this won't be immediately popular but I think the Nintendo n64 is a good choice. It's cheap and there's a huge library of good games. And it has a collectible angle the others don't have.
