Do you like the snow and why?

February 8, 2007 4:49am CST
I love the snow, particularly watching it fall and the sound of it crunching under your feet when you walk. However I must say today was the first time I realised why so many people don't like it. I'm watching it get deeper and deeper wondering how I'm going to push the pushchair through it to pick up my daughter from school later. I am also desperately trying to dry off my wet shoes and our coats so that we won't have to put on wet things to go back out again. Do you like the snow? Why do you feel that way?

Your road looks fairly easy to drive down like mine is today, it was worse yesterday as the snow was thicker. It is snowing again now but the temperature is supposed to be getting warmer, which is good, because although I really like the snow I don't like it when it freezes.

I loved the snow in the past, when I was a child, because I loved to play with it! I loved to make snowmen and throwing snowballs on my friends! But now I hate it because I can't move when there is snow. I always get ill because it's cold. I prefer summer...hot wheater..sea and sand! ;-) Anyway...when snow will melt, you will get so much mud...and I hate walking in it! I get all dirty!

I adore the snow! I woke up this morning to a blanket of it, and it is still falling now. I went for a long walk in the woods near by home - everything is so quiet and peaceful. I love the gentle, almost eerie feeling of walking with the snow falling all around you, and it's great to see the kids having fun throwing snowballs, and my cats frollicking outside in it. This picture was taken from my doorway at about 7.30am now, and we have much more snow now!

before I came to canada, when the most snow I saw was in pictures, I thought it was beautiful. ALl that nice pristine white! Now.... living with it, my idea changed somewhat. Yes it's pretty when it falls, just to turn into a muddy mess as people and cars go over it. Shoveling after a snowfall might be a good exercise, but not my favorite one, and walking through slush is not as enjoyable as all that.

I agree about the slush, I hate it when it turns all slippery and messy.

I love the snow, coming from a country where it never snows, I just love to go on holiday to places where it snows over Christmas time. What I really like the most is the peaceful quieteness after a new or fresh layer of snow has covered everything. The snow obviously absorbs a lot of sound waves so it seems just extremely quiet...its just the most amazing and eery feeling!

i love snow. bcz i love rain , winds, and every thing that nature has provided us. but sadly i have seen snowfall only in films. In India snow falls in many parts of Himalayan region but i live in M.P. and there is no snow. Yeah sometimes in winter and after the summer we experience snow falling with rain in form of little balls.

I love the snow to. I grew up with snow and I remeber the snowball fights, walking to and from school in it. Christmas morning waking up and the icicles hanging down from the window and the ground all white. Snow Ice Cream. I don't get to be around the snow now, I tell my kid's how wonderful I think it is and one day they will get to see it and play in it and know the pure joy of snow.

Can I answer? I havent seen/ felt/ encountered any snow because I live in a very hot country. But my friends and family have seen snow when they went to other countries and Ive heard great stories about it. Id say even if I havent seen it, I already like it!

I grew up in Ohio and lived there for 28 years before moving to the south. I don't miss the freezing cold weather, but I do miss the snow every once in awhile. I miss how quiet it can be when it is snowing good. Everything is still like the snow is blocking out sound. I miss building snowmen and making snow angels until your so cold you can't feel your nose anymore, and then going inside and having a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate. I especially miss that because now that I have children, I wish they could experience a little bit of what I had when a child.

In all my 35 years of life, I haven't seen nor touch any snow. Though, I went to Utah, Salt Lake city a few years back, I didn't stay long for the snow to come down. I wish I could be able to experience it. I know it will be magical. he, he...I'm sure those who have snow in their country may think I'm weird or something. But having no knowledge of what a real snow feels like, its something like to experience given the chance and opportunity.
