Do you make home cooked meals for your family? If yes, what do you usually cook for them? Or do you prefer microwave frozen dinners or eating out?

I like cooking from scratch because I can make dishes healthy and fresh. I like to make stir fry, casseroles, stew, pasta and lots of other things. Of course, there are times when we eat out and just try to order the healthiest thing on the menu...lots of veggies.

We cook real ingredients in this house. We take advantage of a frozen tray of salisbury steaks and put real potatoes and vegetables and good bread for a complete meal. Will buy the pre made pizzas for a quick lunch and that is a treat. Do not own a microwave. We eat out usually only right after we get paid. Or when it is someones birthday.

I'm just starting to prepare home cooked meals for us. My husband and I work opposite schedules, so for a long time we usually at quick to prepare boxed dinners, or things that could be microwaved. However, due to health problems, I'm now supposed to be on a low-sodium diet. Take a look at the sodium on any prepared food item. It's insane. So now, at 26 years old, I'm trying to learn to cook. I never really had a chance to learn how as a kid, so it's kind of an adventure for me. =)

I dont like frozen meals i find them tasteless. I cook for me and mum everyday, i do chilli con carne, madras, stew, cottage pie, roasts, peppercorn chicken, pasta bake. I like a take away now and then but not big on eating out.

My wife and I used to live on ready made meals and take-aways. Since we had our baby, we make more of an effort to cook simple healthy(ish) home cooked food. We didn't used to cook because we're lazy, but it only really takes about 30 minutes (50 including dishes!) to prepare and cook a good nutricious meal like chicken and 4 or 5 different vegetables.
