When we didn't get snow for December and January I thought that was that, but when I opened my bedroom curtains this morning the ground was covered with snow..:)

Lucky you. I just love the snow. I got up early this morning because I wanted to see all the snow that was forecast but all we had in Kildare, was a fine fall of sleet. It didn't even stick to the ground. Now it's just raining and miserable. I phoned my son who lives in Cork and he had no snow either. How disappointing for me.

I'm in northern Ohio and we had a very mild December and January. Now we have a little bit of snow, but the temperatures have gone below 0 for quite a while. I think I'd rather have a foot of snow on the ground. I think this is the weather's way of making up for all the 70 degree days we had in November and December.

The only time I want it to snow is on Christmas Day, we never get a white Christmas any more. I hate snow! I hate being out in it and I hate driving in it. In the UK as soon as it snows everything comes to a grinding halt, we can't cope with snow it seems! I hope it doesn't stay for long, I thought we had escaped it but now it's caught up with us. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow morning it'll be gone, but I doubt it somehow. It's good to see the kids are out in it making snowmen, seems the local school has closed for the day!

We never got it so bad in my area that we had the schools shut down...it was very disappointing! lol! I like a few days of snow but not for too long as it does cause a lot of problems.

Lol Emisle, it must have been everywhere that Day, as we had it here to. I love the Snow and it was a shame it only lasted a Day though.

I know the feeling... there was no snow in NYC for the first time since 1877, and just a few flakes in Jan, if that. We've gotten some in Feb, but not enough to stick. For some reason I never think of it snowing that much in Ireland... do you typically get much?

No we don't get that much, we get a few days snow mixed in with the frosty weather if we're lucky. I know it was snowing in the north of Ireland as well, though in the south where I go to college my friend informed me that all they got was rain...losers! lol!

Wish we have some here at least for couple of days. I miss the snow the last time we had it, lasting for a few days, where I live was in 1979.
