fisrt time in my life i got false nails..and yes they looked quite pretty..but they were making me useless and slow in everything..i couldn't button up my shirts properly..can;'t open cans properly..my fingers would slide off the keyboard as i would type and impair me..so i thoght..sod it..excuse my french i am going to cut the ruddy things off and file them..so i did..i was a littl sad but when i saw my hubby's face glisten with joy and my typing speed increase at mylot..i think the small sacrifice was worth it..my hubby said you look better with the shorter nails.. that helped..and i managed to do 25 responses of decent length in an hour..that's the fastest i have ever done.. what small sacrifice have you made that was really worth it and you saw the benefits from it?

Congratulations on losing your nails! Although I like well groomed nails myself, I never understood women with false nails. I mean, we women have not only to do our work to earn some money, but run around in supermarkets for groceries and doing work in the house... How can you keep your nails intact, I always wonder. Besides, I do not really like long nails ;-)) And with my ceramics... not practical at all! My small sacrifice so far for MyLot is that as a writer and journalist (retired) I was used to get paid well for my writing... And here... well, I don't have to tell YOU, do I? So I write and write and post and post, for nickels and dimes... but it's okey! No benefits yet, unless you all $1.87 in almost 6 weeks a benefit...;-)

I like long nails very much really but then again - when mines are long long - then as you said - it's hard to type. Slow, tons of typos etc etc. So usually i keep them until I feel, I can't type normal anymore, then cut them off lol. Then I let them grow again =))

The things we do for MyLot. Tsk tsk LOL but I'm glad you got those nails off ya cause that means you replied to my post! hahahah Yes don't deny it, I saw it! :) What sacrifices have I made for a better cause? Let's see, I gave up eating chocolate and dessert just to lose weight, does that count? I can't say that I've done any major sacrifices. You;re at 888 now! I hope you get to 1000 tonight!! Good luck! I'm still working on mine. I'm not even at 500 yet! Argh! okay..I'll try to get to 500 tonight. *LAUGHS*

Oh it's a shame you have had to sacrifice your nails in the name of mylotting! Are you feeling better now they are smaller? You need to let your nails grow naturally sometimes anyway! I have false nails on once every six months and usually keep them on for a few weeks at a time! It doesnt really affect my typing as I have been wearing false nails on and off since I was 21!

WOw!your doing great. I always have a short nails. I am not used to having long nails or putting false nails coz its true that it hinders your work plus long nails is not healthy 'coz its where most bacterias thrives.

that is a great story. those nails you have to get use to. i have my nails done, but i keep them short and i just love the way my hands look. somethings are just not for eveyone. I have made sacrifices all my life. i took my sister in when my mother passed. we have different fathers but i took her into my home when she was 12 and i had two kids already. why did i do that becaus she is my baby sister and i love her. she is now 25 and a beautiful woman who still leaves with me. i think that sacrifice is over and she needs her own place!! LOL

I don't blame you for removing those false nails. I couldn't imagine not being able to type quickly, lol! My typing speed already frustrates me sometimes. (Well, not really my speed so much as my innacuracies. I actually type at about 80 words per minute, according to a test I took online awhile back. You can check your typing speed too, if you like, here: http://www.typingtest.com) I can't imagine how frustrated I would be if I had nails that were causing me to slow down and causing my fingers to slip off. I am glad that you are back up to your regular typing speed now! I probably make about 25-30 quality replies in an hour, myself, so I think that you're doing great! ^_^

I got false nails before and they drove me mad! They weren't even that long but they just got in the way when I was typing etc. I was so happy when they finally fell off.

long, manicured nails are pretty but, like you said it has a lot of disadvantages. so, were you able to do 150 posts? is it really possible? i did 50 posts one time and it was hard for me.

I had the same experience with the fake nails and cut them off too. But the sacrifice I'v made was to put my life on hold for my children so they could be raise in the way they were supposed to go so that when they became grown they wouldn't turn away from my teaching because they not only heard me but saw me live the life that I talked about in front of them. Now I can say that it's was and is worth it because I have three beautiful and successful childern and three most gorgeous grands. I look at my children and see in them and hear, how I behave and talk. Living mini me's.
