I have been doing some freelance writing lately for Associated Content and Constant Content. They don't pay a lot but I figure it's a good place to start and get some exposure. I have sold three articles to each and have been paid already, so I know they are legitimate. If you can write well, and follow good rules of punctuation, spelling, and grammar, they will accept most of your articles. They operate differently, so without going into a lot of detail, just go to these sites and check them out:

The link for Constant Content didn't work for me. Can you tell me more about this writing site? Thanks.

I haven't tried magazine work, the traditional thing of sending query letters, etc. sounds slow and frustrating. I'm trying to make money writing online if I can.
Consider joining the Editorial Freelancers Association, they have job listings, courses, discussion groups, etc. I think it's only about $50 a year... www.the-efa.org
