Do you get lost in your thoughts?

Do you like me, often get so absorbed in your own thoughts that you get irritated by the intrusion of someone even talking to you? I had such a day yesterday and I even sat down to watch the TV, (a very unusual occupation for me because I hate UK television), just to get out of it. I must have had something deep in my subconscious that I could not get rid of. How about you?

I used to this quite frequently. Now I don't have the time to do it. But just as I read your post, I went to ask my husband something and he didn't even hear me. He is always lost in his thoughts. I regularly have to repeat myself whenever speak to him and this really irritates me. In the future, I think I will have to send something crashing to the floor so that I can get his attention.

I have days when I am quietly minding my own business engrossed in my chores and my own thoughts, when suddenly someone will turn the radio on in the barn and I could just loose my mind I get so irritated. I try to act a normally as I can. Though I am usually done in the barn and on my way back into the house to make breakfast shortly after others arrive, I won't say anything and make a beeline for the quiet and solitude of my house. Befor the entire crew comes in for breakfast I am in a better mood again. This does not happen alot but I know what you are speaking of.

Its not often I get in that mood Ally but when I do I get so irritated by people. I think my wife knows when I am that way inclined. Being together so long make one understand the others moods I think.

Thanks for posting 'chimex'. I guess because I spent so many years driving a truck by myself I got into the habit of thinking a lot. Even now I don't often talk when I'm driving even when my wife is with me.....I'm such a louse I suppose.

Yes - very often!!! I think I did even as a little girl - my Dad's nickname for me was "Dolly Day Dream" - LOL! I certainly don't like interruptions, when I'm concentrating, whether it is on work, or reading my newspaper, or being here on MyLot either! I don't like UK TV these days much either!

Hi Rosie.... I didn't realise there were many people like me in that respect. My wife gets so annoyed when I'm reading the paper and she tells me something. I just have to fold it up put it away and give her my full attention. Then she stops. So I pick up the paper. Then she starts again. Then the paper goes away.......she gets so annoyed at me. I shouldn't do it really....!!

Not been about for the past couple days....other things on! And I haven't been nagged at either! My wife does not nag. She tells....I do!! No its just that I do like my own space sometimes and If I do have something on my mind I worry it until I solve it then I'm ok.

Oh yes for sure. My husband can tell that when I am quiet, that I'm deep into thoughts. He usually just leaves me alone or merely taps my hands first before he says anything - you know just to see if I'm still there :) I tend to have that, not because I'm a deep thinker but just because somehow I like to "digest" things no matter how simple they are. It drives my friends nuts too sometimes because they have to wait until I "return" only to repeat their stories all over again hehe

There you are LittleMel a lady after my own heart. Its not very often but just now and again. I suppose things build up until you just have to sort them out in you mind. Thanks for your input.

I am a man of moods for sure. Earlier, I used to have real trouble when people broke into my silent world, but now I have learnt to hide it well or to find a lonely place just for me to fight with my inner thoughts (demons? not really!):) Sometimes, I just declare that I am going to 'meditate' and it works at home. I haven't ever tried it at my work place, fearing the consequences. I guess one great thing blogging can do to me is to give vent to almost all my thoughts and feelings. So, there is not much clutter in my mind-space that I have deal with. And, creative writing helps a lot too. I think every human being has such moments when they need to be left alone, but we all just adjust.

Not all the time, thank God. But i often get lost in my thoughts when I am riding a bus, and i end up getting off at another place because my mind was wandering somewhere else. Sometimes, even familiar place or things become unfamiliar for a moment, if i get suddenly distracted. Its weird or should i say I am weird? :))
