A balanced diet and not much junk food is a good basis to avoid becoming ill during the winter or anytime. Vitamin C is found in those things and if they are a natural part of your diet then you probabaly have adequate amounts. Sugar suppresses your immune system so that is something to practically eliminate from your diet if you are concerned about illness. Stress also harms your immune response so reduce you level of stress and it will help you to stay healthier.

As u have stated Vit.C occure in Citrus fruits (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lime), tomatoes, and potatoes are good common sources of vitamin C. Other foods that are good sources of vitamin C include papaya, broccoli, brussels sprouts, black currants, strawberries, cauliflower, spinach, cantaloupe, kiwifruit, cranberries and red peppers. Its very helpful to bring up immunity, so certainly health pvovider.
