Our family lives in a Four Season modular home and we hate it! This place was put together out of styrofoam! The workmanship is horrible and so is the customer service when you try to get help out of them. Has any other mylotters lived in a Four Seasons modular home? Did you like it, or not?

I have heard only good things about modularular homes. I am quite surprised to hear that from a person who lives in it. I am going to tell all of my friends that are constantly talking about how great they area, how they can be shoddy in workmanship. Thanks for the tip.

I have always heard good things too. I'm not sure that all modulars are this bad, but ours sure is. We rent and the owner has many modulars, but this is the only one made by four seasons and I guess the only one that he has had such trouble with. I really don't think all modulars are bad, I think it has a lot to do with the manufacturer, and I do not recomend the manufacture of this one.

Here is my experience with modular housing. Yes, not all modular homes are built the same. Take a look at what Liberty Homes, Inc delivered to me www.VeryBadHome.com It is my opinion that the manufactured housing industry has regulations, but that rarely do you see them enforced. It would seem that in IL if you get a modular home with no issues, then you are fortunate. If you get a modular home in IL with issues, then good luck. The IL dept of Public Health (IDPH) regulates modular housing in IL, yet they refused to enforce any of their regulations in my case. Check out my website, you will not believe your eyes. Also, on my website a few inches from teh top, you will see alink to ABC 7 Chicago' story they aired about my home - 4.5 minutes of air time. I've got signed letters from 11 IL Senators and 36 State Representatives that were sent to IDPH, and yet they still refuse to do anything.

I've never lived in a modular, but I've lived in a couple of mobile homes. The difference between "manufactured" homes like these and "stick built" homes is basically that the former are built indoors in factories. In the case of modulars they are built in a few pieces, which are all put together at the site where the home is going to be. It probably does depend on the manufacturer, and what State you live. But the mobile homes I've lived in were always great, especially the ones made by Titan, which is a division of Champion. That company is known to EXCEED the regulational requirements. I don't know anything about Four Seasons, but if you haven't been living in the house for very long, was there a warranty of any kind? If you have that but you have a lot of trouble with customer service, call a lawyer, or the housing authority or something. This is you HOUSE, it's not like a TV or even a car, since it's your home you have some rights to get things done to fix it.
