Vacations

I like to spend vacations on hilly areas during hot season.

I guess I like a more adventuress type vacation. Camping, hiking, exploring. At least once a year for a few weeks. Other vacation times is spent trying to visit family that is getting spread out across the country.

Our vacation is yearly. We pack up our vans and head to where I grew up. There is a sportsman club and they open their grounds for a swap meet/flea market. I am a vendor there and get a 20x20 foot spot. We set up 2 carports and put up tables. We sell books, toys, movies, kitchen and electronic things. We set up the other with cots, sleeping bags, the camp kitchen, a solar shower. That carport has a floor. We kinda camp! We stay for 5 days over the Labor Day Weekend and lots of people go by our spot. Shopping is the agenda for that weekend. We vendors shop from one another and even though we cook, we buy goodies from the Amish lady, the french fries fried with skins on and smoothies, ice cream and sometimes hot dots. Even had pizza once. Kind of a working vacation. We really look forward to it every year.

I haven't been on vacation in years. When we go on vacations, we like to go to Floride most of the time so we can enjoy the ocean, the sun, and the sand. We live in Indiana and it is nice to get away and see the ocean and enjoy the sun. We haven't been on any adventurous trips as of yet.

Every year we go to a local music and arts festival for one weekend. We put in a little time volunteering, then spend the rest of the time enjoying the festival. We camp there for the weekend. The kids do a lot of fishing and swimming while we are there. I mostly enjoy listening to the music and watching some of the great bands. Last year I attended the clogging lessons, and if the kids hadn't threatened to leave if I tried, I probably would have joined in the dance too. I thought it would be fun, and had a great time watching. Just the camping and the fun of the festival was fun too though. We have also had some fun trips to places like Michigans's Adventure Theme Park. Of course with the exception of one year we have always camped when we went there too. I love to camp so we usually camp no matter where we go on vacation. We will be going to the music festival again this summer because I always like to volunteer there, but haven't where else we may be going.
