Width of cat food dish

I've been told that a cat will avoid a food dish if its so narrow that its whiskers touch it. Is this true? My cat seems to prefer a wide dish over a narrower, deeper bowl.

I have never heard of this either. My cat has eaten out of all kinds of dishes before. I like to change them up and so far there has not been one he has disliked. Although my cat is a fatty kitty so he may just want the food at whatever cost. :)

I have never heard this. Both of our cats eat out of round dishes, I would be amazed if their whiskers never touched the sides of their bowls.

I have never heard of this either, and in my case I would say it is not true. My cats do have a larger square dish right now, but there are times that they try to eat at the same time so I pull out a amll dish and one eats out of that. I have also on many occassions seen my cats stick there heads all the way into a normal sized drinking cup to get what is at the bottom, and I can guarantee that there whiskers were scruntched up and touching the sides. I think maybe it depends on the mood the cat is in. I have also seen my cats dip their paw into a container to bring out what was in it. Vut for the most part I would ssay that it is not a true statement.

OK. This may be misinformation. Forget it! ;)
