I love going to thrift stores. There is alot of bargains and many treasures. Me and my family went to Salvation Army and picked up some hallmark dinosaurs that are limited editions. We paid 1.99 each on E-bay they are selling the egg they come in for 8.00 dollars. You would be suprised what you can find!! Anybody else have something they have picked up at a thrift store worth alot?

I ADORE thrift store shopping! I wish I had the money to go every single day! I've bought and sold many things that I've gotten at thrift stores, books, other items, etc. I shop for myself too and buy stuff that I don't sell. At one thrift store I bought several heartsong religious paperback books for around $30 dollars and then sold them for over $70 in a book lot on eBay. The profit was pretty good although you can't always take chances like that because sometimes stuff won't sell. We also get toy bags that the thrift store stuffs with stuffed animals, cars, figures, etc. We took out the stuff we wanted to give the kids and then I saw this really funny stuffed item. It was a pickle wearing a cape. It was Super Pickle or something like that. It did have a few flaws but it still sold for $25! Not bad since we paid around 2 bucks for the toy bag and didn't buy the toy bag to resell anything. If the Pickle had been in mint condition, we could have made double. There are some other things too of course... but right now I can't remember. There has been so many... :)

I think the books were closer to 20, not 30 because I remember making a 50 dollar profit. That wasn't that long ago either! :)

Thrift stores are good and we go, however, we like the Church Rummage sales more and flea markets and library book sales. We appreciate the bag sales for 3 or less dollars and get great deals. I picked up a dvd once that was worth 50 dollars or half.com. That was the treasure for me so far.

I love shopping thrift stores, outlet stores, and dollar stores. I have found some nice deals that way. I got a silk skirt and blouse, matching set that had to be worth $100 minimum, for a whole $5 at Goodwill. It was a great outfit that I used on formal night on a cruise. I also once got a linen skirt with a built in slip for a whopping $0.40 at Bells Outlet. I was thrilled at that price. A brand new skirt for under a dollar was quite a find for me.

I also love thrift stores. I love wearing vintage clothing. And I almost always shop for furniture at the local thrift stores. My most valuable treasure to date is a large unicorn painting on black velvet. It's poster size, and framed, and I got it for five bucks. That's what we call 'score'.

Did you ever find something expensive and you paid only pennies for it?
