The National Beef Cookoff has been going on for years and I'm about to enter for the first time! There are a total of three prizes with $50,000 for first place! :) I'm gonna pull out all the stops and let my imagination fly wild. I know that there are some other beef lovers out there in MyLot land, who would like a shot at this, too! Am I right? I'd love to see some of you wonderful cooks get in on this, the deadline is March 31, and maybe win a nice chunk of moo-lah! (Get It?, MOO-LAH, LOL!) Ok, gotta go choose my beef... Here, Bossy Bossy, I've got something to share with you! LOL! Just kidding, it's off to the supermarket for me! http://www.beefcookoff.org/

LOL! I'm not a cook, but I loved your post, and I am wishing you all the best. I really hope that you win! You've got to come back here and post and let us all know if you do. I bet that you've got a great shot at it! I honestly had no idea that there was such a contest going. $50,000 for a piece of beef? That's pretty amazing. I guess that there are competitions around for just about anything and everything, nowadays! But I would have expected the prize for something like this to be a little smaller, so hearing that the amount is so big is pretty awesome! I wish right now that I _were_ a cook, lol! ^_^

My dear Friend, This is one of many contests that I plan to enter in 2007... I can't wait for the $100,000 Chicken Cooking Contest, the $50,000 Hamburger contest, and the $1,000,000 Pillsbury Bake-off! I've already gotten an email for the mussel recipe contest that I just entered about three weeks ago, requesting my phone number! That could be the beginning of some very good (finalist) news! :) Some of these contests don't even require that you be an accomplished cook... just someone who is able to put an existing product into a recipe and make it taste good, like The Ripe Olive recipe contest... Look in my profile for some links, if you are curious to see what's out there, it's really fun! :)

Hi, I am not a contest cook, but I want to wish you the best of luck. I think we could easily publish a MyLot cookbook ont the side, with all of the great cooks that are here. Hubby loves beef of any kind.

I don't see why not! :) We could compile the book right on the site and self-publish it on LULU... http//www.lulu.com for free! Contributing writers could share in the proceeds. Of course, we would have to get permission from admin to use the MyLot name, but this could be a heck of a publicity move for 'em! Good Going, my friend! :) You keep coming up with ideas like that and you'll be moving into that mansion in no time! LOL!
