If you want to colour a large surface better use crayons. If you want to colour a small area better use colour pencils. If you want to make permanent and even marks better use markers.

Well it depends on what you are needing to use them for.
I like all three, but like I said it depends on the effect you want, what the project is, and what would work the best to do what you want.
I like sharp crayons or colored pencils so they make a nice mark. With markers I like them new so you don't get the faded color with old markers.
What are you going to be making?

I like coloured pencils better. Kids can't break them easily and they don't have that waxy texture.

For children, coloured pencils are better for developing their fine motor skills (eg:writing). However, if you asking an adult who is in the artistic & designing industry, they will definitely tell you that it all depends on the project they are working on, the effects they want to achieve, and the textures that they want the customer to feel.
Since i'm not a child nor an artist, I'll stick to my markers because that works well for me during my lessons.

I like using all of them in a piece. They all have their own features and benefits, thus play different roles in whatever I'm working on. For example, I'll do the line work for a landscape in colored pencil, then add color and texture (and shading) using crayons. Then, I'll go over the entire piece with markers to add extra detail or a more striking contrast to shading.

for me i prefer to use crayons....it is because i was used to use it when i was a kid....you know kids really like crayons....kids don't used crayons for coloring on the provided coloring books....they also used it as toys, use to vandalize the walls and floors....and also they love to eat it.....i was wondering why kids love can to eat crayons, they didn't eat it as food but they just eat it....
