What do you do when you get no responses to a discussion you've started? Does it mean that the topic is not interesting enough; too controversial to be answered; or there are not enough members with the same interests? I've seen discussions with the exact same topic and yet one gets plenty of responses while the other gets no takers. Is it possible to delete the discussion that you got no response to?

Irespective of quality of topics there are thousands of toipics which have not received any response. It is due to various factors, some of them are: 1. They may be too silly (I have seen many silly topics get lot of responses) 2. The topic may look slightly complicated to answer, so lot of mylotians just skip. 3. The topic which appears on page 1, when posted disappears into 30th or 100th page within minutes and it might have skipped the attention of mylotians 4. Probably the person who posted it has not done much follow up work. 5. Those who have mylot friends, they have to make use of their help in getting the responses to the post. Out of 1800 discussion topics I have posted, 200 of them have not received any response or 1 response. I am trying various methods to get them off from the dustbin.

I don't think you can edit, or delete posts here on MyLot. That is something that I would like to see changed, because I often post something, and then realise there is a typing error in it, or sometimes posts appear twice. As for why some posters get responses to the same discussions as people who have none, I guess it is the old friends thing again. If you have good friends, they will help start off your discussion by responding.

When I see that the discussion is worth responding to I respond but not all the time. Sometime though your discussion get skipped. I have learned the trick somehow. Try to start a discussion during the prime time or when there are more users online usually in the morning around 8-12 noon Philippine time.

Then I wouldn't fret about it, and make another discussion. You can't expect everything to be ground-breaking or monumental, but you can expect them to be quality. Unfortunately, because this is a place open to everyone, and their opinions, we cannot depend on the quality of their responses - if any.

I have a few of those myself. I just figured that the topic wasnt interesting to anyone when I posted it. I have a discussion just like this one, because I had empty discussions. I wonder if mylot deletes them after a time. It does make me sad, though..
