Checkbook...who balances it, you or your spouse?

My husband and I have seperate checking accounts, so we're each responsible for our own. We basically split up the bills we have to pay, and just make sure that if we can't pay one of our assigned bills we notify the other so we can figure out how to deal with it. I know it seems a little silly of us, but I really prefer it this way. It makes it easier to keep up with how much is in my account, and it makes me feel like I have some freedom when it comes to money. I work at the bank, so it's pretty easy for us to keep up with things, with constant access to account histories, copies of checks, etc. Of course a lot of that we can do through online banking as well, which is nice.

I handle the money in our house, my hubby's horrabe at it. He's the one that spends the most money too.I try to save as best I can.

We are both terrible at this . We both do it when we think about it but that is not very often . We try not to write to many checks though and this helps out so that when we do have to figure it out for some reason we can usually remember what we wrote a check up for to make sure we have enough money to pay for all the bills each month .
