What programming language do you prefer and why?

I like Java language when I want to create a stand-alone software, I has a lot of libraries and good graphic methods, so with Java you can develop quite robust software very fast.

i like c#.net becoz it is very similar to java and whatever we can do using java we can also do that with c# and it provides good and easy IDE comparitively to java.

I completely agree with you.I think it is much better then Java. It force on what working a control do not on how a control is created

I prefer Ruby now, a very concise language and is object oriented. The only problem with it, as with many scripting languages, is that it has a very loose type system. This makes programs very generic, though it is also an important source of bugs. I also used functional programming languages and I just love them. If speed is an issue, then I generally resort back to the old C/C++ duo.

Forget all that. BASIC is the best programming language EVER. You can create awesome games like Hangman with it. Ok, on to a serious note, I prefer C+. Html is actually a document formatting language, not a programing language.
