What's yours? Why? Should I buy it, rent it, steal it? Mine is Metal Gear Solid, for the PS1. The plot was as intricate as most hollywood action movies, if not more so. It had great character development with Meryl, Otacon, and even Solid Snake. The gameplay was and still is top notch. The graphics, while dated, are still good enough to stand toe-to-toe with many playstation2 games. Buy it if you can, steal it if you have to.

ok, i have a lot of favorites, but mostly i like horror survival games, so if you're into those, i could give you some cool suggestions. have you tried any of the fatal frame series, all three are awesome, especially 'crimson butterflies' there is a really nice game called 'haunting ground' where your only weapon is a german shepherd, named 'hewie' a suspense murder solving game called 'glass rose'. A great new game with a very different gameplay style called 'fahrenheit' or 'indigo prophecy' in some countries. This game plays like a movie all the way through. ofcourse other favorites of mine are pretty well known and i'm sure you would have heard of them, like GTA, need for speed, prince of persia, etc.

I started playing Silent Hill. I got to the final boss, and couldn't beat her. I had no ammo, no health drinks, and the faqs I read basically said I was screwed. I haven't picked it up to replay it. I'd like to try the Fatal Frame series, the photography aspect intrigues me, since I am a photographer by trade. I might pick that up.

hell, yeah, i think you would really get it. plus if you're the kinda guy that doesn't believe in just 'shoot me ups' kinda games, then this is definitely what you'll like. And if silent hill scared you a little bit, then fatal frame might just scare you a little bit more. and check out the other games i told you too. All of them are in my favorite list.

yeah, they are definitely different than from what you usually play, but change is good right, and i've only suggested the best in their respective genres.

Personally, I love the original Nintendo with the Mario Brothers game and the duck hunt. There are some great games and systems now, but to me, nothing beats a good old-fashioned game of Mario, and some duck hunt :)

I still like Final Fantasy Tactics this is for ps1 also.Seems like nowadays that it is all about the graffics and not the gameplay.

Yeah, that's what I've noticed too. Better graphics does not necessarily mean a better game. I mean, FF7 is still the most popular Final Fantasy, as far as I know, despite FFX, FFX2, etc. Game designers spend too much time adding polygons to the game, and too little time with the story.

mine will be the resident evil series in PS1 next is Final Fantasy. BTW, is there any bust-a-groove kind of game in PS2? I haven't found similar to that game.
